Your utility, not a state average

FPL, Duke Energy, Tampa Electric, JEA, OUC, Lakeland Electric, the Keys and the rest of Florida's 34 utilities and co-ops all credit rooftop solar differently. We model the rule that applies at your address, net-metering credits and size tiers included.

This year's incentives, dated

Florida exempts solar equipment from sales tax and keeps the value it adds to your home off your property-tax bill. Businesses, farms, schools and nonprofits: a 30% federal credit on systems running by December 31, 2027, plus full first-year depreciation for taxpayers.

Florida's 34 electric utilities and cooperatives. Hover one to see its name. Sunshine is only half the answer; your utility's rules are the other half, and we have read every one of them.

What you'll see

  • A net-zero system size built from your real electricity usage and how your home is cooled and heated.
  • Estimated system cost at current Florida prices, with applicable tax exemptions and credits applied.
  • First-year savings and return-on-investment estimates using your utility's actual pricing.
  • Your roof from the air, with how many panels fit (where imagery is available).

Estimates, not quotes. A state-licensed contractor confirms your roof, your panels and your price. Florida Solar Estimate does not sell, install or finance solar.
